City events

My city has a link for an event but no host yet - how do I find out what's necessary to run one of these events as I'm interested in applying for that and potentially hosting?

    Hello! Good question!

    To apply to host, you'll need to have a full profile on River so we can review your application. Please make sure you have a headshot, links to personal social media accounts, and a short bio.
    What’s expected of hosts
    • Choose location & update on the River event page (Hosts are not expected to pay for anything — we strongly suggest you choose a free/open venue where people can buy their own coffee, etc.)
    • Update date, time, and capacity
    • Update the event description so people know what to expect
    • Get to your event early to greet people and make them feel welcome
    • Keep the World’s Largest Hackathon event branding & Bolt badge on the event page
